Week 7 & 8

August 6-August 19, 2010

These last two weeks of our lives have been pretty low key. We have been getting into a good routine with each other and getting to know Porter and Eli's personalities more and more each day.

They eat every 3 hours starting at 6 a.m. each day. We stay up for a little bit usually 1-1.5 hours then take a nap for 1-1.5 hours. At night they take baths before the 9 p.m. feeding and then to bed. They started out this two week stint in the same pack and play like normal. Eli falls asleep really easily--just a little chatting then out like a light. We have a mobile of bears on the p-n-p and he loves to watch the bears spin. Porter is a little more difficult to get to sleep. We have always cuddled and rocked and swayed with him until he falls asleep and now we are sort of paying for it. But it does give us a little extra time with our Mr. P., even if it we plead with him the entire to close his eyes!

A nap on the couch together. The hats were handmade by Laura, and we have gotten a lot of use out of them.
An elbow in the mouth. Porter doesn't seem to mind.
Waking up. Oh, Eli does not seem happy with this decision.
For these first few weeks, Porter's hair almost looks like there is a tint of red in it and he has so much compared to Eli. Me and both of my little bambinos.
Eli is yawning not screaming. Porter's head is so little.
Porter gets a kick out of you talking to him really closely.
My Birthday Night Out! We met with some new friends the Robinsons at BeFed. It is a rotisserie chicken place that only has chicken dishes. You get an entire roasted chicken with fries and it is really yummy. It's nice to go when we need a break from Italian food. I put the boys in my favorite outfits for them and their warm hats. Even in August, a rainy night has a bit of chill in the air.
Happiest of Birthdays for me.
This happens a lot when they sleep next to each other. So sweet.
I might get in trouble later in life for this but I had to get a picture of how small they are and how big their diapers are and how their socks come up to their knees. Even at 8 weeks it feels like the time has already passed us by from the day they were born.
Porter and his little wrinkly face and spiky hair.
Waking up since I'm taking pictures with the flash.
Passed out while swaddled but on our favorite Pottery Barn blanket--nice choice Eli!
August was pretty warm so some of their naps I let them sleep with just diapers. Eli for a few weeks really liked sleeping on his tummy. Here I caught a mid-nap smile.
Eli.
Porter--losing some of his wrinkliness.
Teeny toes.
My yoga baby stretching.
Drool should have been my middle name.
Mr. Blue Eyes himself.
Catching some Eli sugar before bedtime.
Porter really lies to take naps on side and I don't mess with him.
Evan is home and Porter takes advantage of having him all to himself for a nap.
