Below are a few pics from Polcenigo, a sleepy, quiet, little village in the mountains. The land-family had us over for coffee, then took us on a tour of the little town, bought us gelato, and then gave us a tour of their historic 15th century church. We spent an entire Sunday afternoon/evening with them.
The Gorgazzo River runs through town. It is an alpine river so it's very chilly. Tatiana (the landlady's daughter) let us know people do not usually swim. So I assume tubing is not accepted.
Frigid water on those toes.
This view of Polcenigo is from one of the balconies at the church. Tatiana opened up every room and showed us all around. A lot of the paintings on the interior walls were done in the 15th century.
This is from the balcony of the church in Polcenigo. This is Zitto. He is the 80 year old landlord who showed us an apartment in Pordenone near the yoga place. We met at a nearby church, then he rode his bike while the silly Americans drove their SUV w/the AC on and ipod playing.
