Buon Compleanno

Evan and I celebrated my birthday with dinner at Ciastelat. A restaurant on the side of the mountains in a nearby town Dardago. We had the house red wine, an appetizer of cheese and various cuts of meat, gnocci with vegetables, and pizza. To top it off--no cake--but amaretto tiramisu was the birthday dessert of choice. We have learned the Italian way for dinner is no rush. We were there for 2.5 hours and it was great because we had plenty of time in between courses to chit-chat and people-watch. It was a quiet little dinner outside surrounded by other Italians and their families.
