We took a day-trip to Caorle today. It's about an hour away and was a nice way to spend the day. We arrived in time for lunch but also for reposo. We sat and enjoyed our lunch and prosecco while the town was quiet. Caorle is still considered a Venetian city because of the colored buildings and houses.

The store next door to lunch. Please and thank you.

It was a slightly chilly day and the sun was out in full force, so the boys were sunscreened up and covered head to toe. No swimsuits today.

Porter and Eli before they ate lunch.

The bell tower in the town dates back to 1048.

The sea wall. A lot of the stones behind me were carved into different sculptures.

From the sea wall looking towards the town. We passed people enjoying the paper on the park benches. It was such a nice, quiet afternoon.

The Church of Blessed Virgin of the Angel on the edge of the sea wall.

From the church looking back towards the town.

The beach and nearby hotels that fill the beach line.

Walking around the edge of the church. Eli is pulling off his sock.

This is how we spent the remainder of the afternoon. Snapping pictures of the boys. They were so much fun. They are getting a lot better in the grass and even want to crawl around in it.

This week Porter has really been using his tongue to do all kinds of things. Pulling up? He needs his tongue out. Working with a toy? His tongue is there to help. What a cutie!

Oh Eli and his hesitation. He's just not sure about all this green stuff. We are quite the city folk I guess in Sacile surrounded by stone and concrete.

Porter really tried to get him to move around and kept looking back at him like, "Come on, it's really not that bad."

My favorite picture of the day. These two little people have enriched our lives more than I ever imagined possible.

Hanging out in the grass.

After a while the sun was covered by the clouds and the chill came back so the hoodies came back out.

Daddy's boys.

You can sort of see the carvings in the rocks. The one about 3 behind me is in the shape of a face and you can see the lips.

The remains of a 17th century fresco.

After reposo the same picture from earlier looks a lot different. We shopped and ate gelato and shopped some more. It was a great getaway.
