Monet.

December 28, 2009

We decided during Evan's time off between Christmas and New Years we would take a few daytrips. First we went to Udine, about an hour away. "Courbet's and Monet's Age. The spread of realism and impressionism in central and Eastern Europe." Villa Manin hosted the exhibition of 134 paintings and here we are in the courtyard of the large villa. We did not get a picture of the actual villa--the facade was very grand. The inside was also large and open spaces with extremely high ceilings.

The lambs in this picture were made by Kindergartners through 8th grade students. Most of the lamb bodies are made of twisted plastic bags.Look at all the little lambs.
Isn't he cute?
We were not allowed to photograph the paintings inside but Monet is one of our favorite artists and we enjoyed getting out of Sacile and seeing a new place--even for just a short daytrip. One of my favorites that we have.
