What Do Porter & Eli Do All Day?

Play. Play. Play. Walk. Walk. Walk. Eat. Eat. Eat. and Sleep.
  • They walk with their wiggle-giggle shakers all over the place.
  • They climb like monkeys to get in the pack-n-play. When I put them in the PNP, they play for a little bit, toss the toys out, lie down on top of each other or side-by-side until I come get them.
  • When they play in their room, they walk over to their dresser and hide toys behind or underneath it. They also like to toss their toys in the hamper and say, "uh-oh" a hundred times.
  • When the ipod is on during mealtime or playtime, they will rock their bodies or bob their heads and Porter has a cute little hip swing. They also like when their toys play music because then they can dance along. We have been on base a few times during Retreat, usually at the playground, and they bounce along with the Italian and American National Anthems.
  • The trips up the stairs have gotten easier after 14 months. As soon as I can get everything/one inside, their feet hit the floor and they climb up the stairs. It takes a while because there is a lot of stopping, staring, playing, looking, backing up, and standing up, but it's nice to not carry them both up every single time.
  • Give kisses. Which are more like open-mouthed, drool attacks.
  • They like to sit in their chairs and look at books. Porter climbs up and lounges usually with a toy to chew on. Like Cash might do. Eli crawls up and picks through a book and chews on the book and flips it over and over.
  • Pampers boxes are still a big hit. The most recent development is finding them both in the box, one on top of the other, and after a moment or two of playing, one or both of them squeals or moves enough to knock the box on it's side. Thus one or both of them tumble out. Or the funnier moments are when they are still stuck inside the box. Silly little guys.
  • When they turned 15 months, Eli walked with the popper out in front of him AND pulled his dog-on-a-string while walking. This was a huge moment for me since I remember having a popper in the nursery at church and thinking every child needs a popper. They both have shoved and pushed and pulled the popper while on the ground or dragged it with them or picked it up. But on the 25th, it clicked and Eli pushed it in front of him and walked and popped. I was thrilled and now he has a new trick. Same story with the dog. They push the dog and like that it barks but have never walked while pulling the string (which makes him bark) until the other day. It was very exciting around here.
  • While they are in their chairs for meals and snack, if the neighbor across the way comes out to clean her balcony, recycle, or change her laundry (which she does several loads per day), they wave to her and watch her every move.

Porter:
~has a LOT of curly, blond hair.
~is such a snuggler, really anytime of the day.
~watches everything Eli does.
~sits at the monkey toy and pushes all the blocks down the hole, takes them out and puts them back, over and over. Then he watches and pushes them all down the spiral.
~likes to push any sort of box or container of any type.
~likes to climb up in his chair with the buzzing bee and it vibrates his teeth.
~has almost all of his teeth except the very back molars top and bottom.

~is getting thicker hair everyday.
~collects all the books throughout the day and doesn't like Porter to touch them at the same time.
~has 6 teeth (4 top, 2 bottom) with one new one on the bottom coming in.
~talks a lot of gibberish to Porter. His little voice comes out and he is talking to him. Porter usually responds in gibberish or sometimes he just turns around and leaves Eli standing there.
